bor ders

In bor ders I combine elements from an installation and a concert to critically reflect on nationalism, migration, and tradition, hoping that  by displaying divisiveness a connection with the audience can be created through which dehumanization, rooted in destructive forms of borders in the wake of inevitable global tensions, can be questioned. Messages of personal significance convey universal, uncompromising values that people can identify with each other. I grew up in a patriarchal authoritarian country still recovering from colonialism, and in bor ders I construct a practice that advocates for decolonization in music and fluidity.
